Job Hunt Follies

My journey through Graduate School to earn a Masters of Art in Education. I was on track to become a teacher, but now everything has changed, and I'm on the job hunt with a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts and a Master's in Education with no teaching certificate.

New Class

I spent the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in a new class about quantitative research. I'm not exactly thrilled to repeat a class that I've already taken, but it will be nice to have class time dedicated to writing my research paper. I'm doing a qualitative paper and I need to schedule more interviews. I also have to finish this completely while everyone else in the class only has to focus on their introductions, literature reviews, and methods, I also have to write up my results and conclusions.

On the other hand, I get to help out other adults who aren't stats-friendly, and I get to play the tutor. If I had my druthers, I'd go back to one-on-one tutoring, but I don't think I could make enough money at it. I do like the idea of teaching in adult education settings, however. One of the students said that she was impressed with my authoritative attitude, and guessed that that was what caused the problems with my uncooperative cooperating teacher. She was surprised to find out that I really choked in that classroom.

So why am I blogging this? Because I have an 8 page paper due in 26 hours and I haven't started it, and I don't want to start it. It's the last assignment and 30 percent of the grade. I figure I've earned 65 out of 70 points in this class already, so I'm not worried about my final grade, assuming I can write this final assignment.

Ugh.
